Oh dude, this is gonna be so embarrassing. You don't play chess do you? You already lost. Can I prep you? Others can add to the dialog that will only end with you saying some variation of "I want..."

"How many guns do you NEED?" "How many guns can you shoot at one time." "Is it more important than [fill in the blank like furniture, car, vacation, new home, baby clothes, SHTF preparations...]?" "Shouldn't we just be saving some money?" "What makes you think the value will go up -- won't it be worth less as soon as you get it home?"

The main part she will focus on is the money part. Like I said, we both already have a healthy sum saved up, plenty so that this is not going to break the bank by any means. I have tried to explain that savings accounts are a good way to lose money each year due to inflation.

You should check out some of the movies on Lifetime. Those men don't need permission for anything.

There is a difference of gathering gun and collecting guns.

When younger, I tried to get as many as I could afford.
Now, I try to get the ones I know will increase in value.

(I've never heard of a Glock increasing in value, but a Korth revolver will.)

My recommendation is to stand your ground.

If it is as important to you as you say it is, let her know that this is a decision that you have made and hope to have her blessing on. Let her know that with or without her blessing, you intend to do what you see is the right and proper thing for you both.

Unless you're talking about a $2k+ AR and a fancy-schmancy O/U shotgun, you can pull this off for around $1500 (not a major investment).

Stand by your decision, show her your commitment and she will come around.

God bless you both and your marriage, may it be long, loving and fruitful.

Butter her up with a gift just before you make your purchases? Get her something nice and then get what you want.

Yeah, but guns are very rarely what one could call a savvy investment. Recently, if you had high demand stuff prior to the gaggle, you could have made a killing. But from a long term perspective, very few guns are a "great investment." Much of the "growth" in firearms value isn't really much above inflation. Really good examples, like a pristine Python might be ahead of the game, Outside of a gungrabber panic, a garden variety AR-15 would be lucky to keep up with inflation.

Since your in the military and you seem to have a surplus of money floating around, contact an investment company. There is very likely a First Command office near your base.
