Default How do you spend your interwebz time when not on FTF?

Weve already concluded that some of us spend way too much time here (Me included). Some may think the Web was invented so that the FTF could thrive but most of us use it for other things also, what do you do with the Web? (Keep it clean!!!!) .

I will start, Im a 30 year Electronics Tech, The web has made my life so much better. No waiting for manuals in the mail, no 22,000 page cross level device books that often dont contain what you want and I can find things in minutes that took weeks sometimes 20 years ago. I also have a 180 year old 4500 sq ft home Im renovating so Craigs, Ebay and other sources of bargains make fixing the place almost reasonable. And then theres porn... Ha, I had to say it, no more than that though so thats the ice breaker!

Thats the most of what I do, How bout You????

Seriously, I use the web like you do. I look for information, Pay all my bills, and research things like building windmill Generators. Lots of other things also.

youtube is the second best (behind FTF) site on the webs.

i can get lost there for hours if i let myself. from mind numbing entertainment to learning to work on your gun....its one of the best.

and the internet might be the last place in america to get real unbiased news coverage (maybe).

I've been into computers since before Bill Gates wrote his first DOS program for IBM. Bulletin Board Services (BBS) used to be the way people found each other and bought and sold items. I have built and worked for so many sites and services that I am no longer enamored with it. I worked for AOL decades ago, but haven't touched it since it was sold, my FaceBook hasn't been updated in two years and I only use it for family that refuse to email. YouTube is good for instructional videos and how-to, but I don't just browse. Pinterest, Instagram and all the others are just more time-wasters for me. About the only thing I get on for is FTF and actual research to solve a specific need, i.e. need a refrigerator, search for reviews to find best one then search for best price. Find tradespeople on YP.com or Angie's List. I also identify with finding schematics and wiring diagrams that are a single PDF document instead of a page in a gigantic, 20,000+ page manual. Although I rarely build or repair anymore, it is a truly impressive time saver.

Wait...Porn? There's porn on the Internet? How come no one told me???

FTF first and foremost. Then CZtalk forum. Then Facebook...I only have 37 friends, mostly family and some very close friends. Then I play some games on Facebook. Then I check my email. I also read news items on the web.

And then I go back to FTF to see if there are any new posts. Then back to CZtalk to see if there are any new posts. Then back to Facebook to see if there are any new comments. Then I play some games.

And then I go back to FTF to see if there are any new posts............................................. .................................................. ..........................................etc.

Between "investing" time in the FTF family and soaking up as much knowledge and wisdom (and bile) from you folks as I can handle, watching amazing vids on youtube and checking financial info. and news, there's no time to do much else.

Although much to my wife's chagrin, I do get a chance to visit Brownell's, Cabela's, SPG, Gunbroker, Numrich, BassPro, Midway USA, ebay, Craigslist, Saltworks, and a few other sites that thin out my wallet.

My wife's employer gave us James Wesley, Rawles' 2 books How to Survive TEOTWAWKI and Patriots for Christmas last year and ever since, I have been keeping up on his site Survivalblog.com. It is an interesting read.

FTF, Fakebook and then a couple other forums and a lot of searching for hand loading supplies and I actually saw a couple of descent buys on arms list last night.

I come on ftf and post inflammatory and blatantly false information to piss people off. Then I go to the Wrangler forum and get caught up over there. Then I go on Facebook and post things to piss people off. Rinse and repeat.
Also hit up YouTube randomly.

better judged by twelve than carried by six.

Well I take online classes at Liberty University Online so I am on there all the time. I keep my FTF tab open in the top and click on it and refresh to check replies often. I do not have a facebook, twitter, linkedin or anything like that anymore as it is too much drama. I use my email to communicate with my wife while she is at work and I use netflix too. I try to limit online purchases but I do pay some bills online as well.
