Very true. It takes a while to heal and "get your head on straight" after a divorce, The general rule of thumb is one month for every year married. I stretched it a bit. Over one year for every year I was married. LOL I've been single now 4 years longer than my marriage lasted. It's been very therapeutic and I have come out a much different person (for the better) than I was 18 years ago.

< first Marriage-11 months...Next relationship...Failure(but not all my own fault either... 20 years later Her & I are friends and we laugh about it...even My Wife likes her! (but thats because she's 2500 miles away and i'm not interested in turning back the hands of time....) different folks heal different ways.....I waited a long time for the "right" one...about 15 years...was alone all of the 90's....sometimes you need 15 years to heal....

Hahaha......yeah, 18 for me. And the healing is happening more and more each day recently. I'm learning to trust again and to let someone help me instead of being a stubborn mule. It's awesome and very comforting.

I will be honest, I've been married 6 years and we have been together 11 altogether. We have a beautiful 5 yeard old daughter together. Marriage is definitely the hardest thing I have ever done. Once the newness wears off it takes a lot of effort on both parts. Factor in stresses from everyday life and Its easy to see why most couples don't make it. We have our ups and downs and we are both stubborn but when the smoke clears we are both still here!!!! I have always said that if we were ever to go our seperate ways I would never marry again.

Well everyone has there different opinions on what they want in a partner. And i dont see the need to bash people for their opinions, we r all soooo different and i say what ever floats your boat go for it!!! There is a reason we dont all look and act the same!!

I saw a bumper sticker that summed it real well:
SO MANY WOMEN, SO LITTLE TIME!

well i was married a year, then seperated about a year by the time we divorced with my first wife and then waited about four years before i married my second wife, and then waited about two years after the divorce before marrying my current wife.

being alone after a divorce was my healing time. i needed much longer after my first wife, from all the emotional damage she did to me insuch a short time. it took me a long time to trust another person and allow them into my life. it didn't take quite as long after the second wife, because we just grew apart and the divorce was very civil and amicable. i think what makes my current marriage so right is the fact that she is not just my wife, but my best friend, my companion and the best part of my life. she makes my life better.

I am on #4 now. She now lives in FL and we are friends and civil about how this will 'end'. I have learned when it comes time to 'split the sheets' and the two parties can't agree or are hostile the only winners are the (AH) attorneys!!!

a good movie to watch is, Shallow Hal with Jack Black. sure can change a person's perspective about others.
You don't have to look past the outside.

Shallow Hall bothered me. I would have tracked down that hypnotist and crippled his oversized self, probably blinded him too for ignoring one of our best senses.
