Good stuff. A dead would-be murderer is better than a jailed murderer any day.

Flush, whoosh. Now to find the other two and perform a 230gr. lobotomy.

About a dozen bullets flew during the shootout, some from what the sheriff called an "assault-type weapon."
|
So what is the difference between an assault weapon and an assault-type weapon?
Good for him, $.65 worth of ammo expended gets a criminal off of the street and saves the taxpayers much in legal fees!

I think that maybe this episode will make us shooters not to worry and debate so much much about wich one is the best defense caliber, as it has been said many times ,shot placement seems to be the key issue, and unless we are law enforcement officer`who might confront more challenging situations than the regular citizen who has a gun for self defense,we shouldn't worry that much about one more inch of penetration or a milimiter more of expansion, just my humble opinion

I didn't see the "Happy" ending. Civil suits against homeowner can still come. Counseling should be offered.
IMO "Assault type weapon" is one that looks like an assault weapon, but does not have the same firing options.

The fact that he was able to protect his house and family with a .22 leaves me incredulous.

When I said "Happy" its more along the lines that the law abiding citizens were not hurt and a bad guy got killed.

Karma to the max. Especially with a .22 - kinda puts paid to the whole oft-quoted notion of a firearm being useless due to not having enough "stoppan power", doesn't it?
Well done to the home-owners, I hope they suffer no legal repercussions from the successful defence of their own property

In my country, this story would have an opposite ending
