Throw a big lipped crank bait over the side (silver and blue or black)! Let out about 135' of line. Pop a cold one and cruise around at about 1.5 to 2.5 MPH and I will almost guarantee a fish eventually! But the beer will be good!
There are two major things that will eliminate a lot of problems!
1. Sta-Bil in the fuel and run some through the engine on the last trip before storing!
2. Take out the top lower unit fill plug and then slightly remove the lower plug. If the lube runs out of the bottom plug looks milky drain and refill. If it does not put the plugs back in and your good to go. With water in the lower there is a threat of it freezing and busting the lower unit open!
3. Have it tuned about every other season and the boat should be reliable
4. Oh yes do not use gas that has ethanol in it!!!! It creates moisture in the fuel tanks and engine. Evinrude and Johnson E-Tecs are especially susceptible to moisture problems. A sign is severe idle problems!
Oh well that is it for the marine program back to the Boomers!
