The highlight of my day:

Giving my name and badge number to a pencil pusher at a state penitentiary so they could "report me to headquarters." Apparently working the desk today made all criminal records "my responsibility" even though I gave her the criminal records divisions number 7 different times.

Sorry sweetheart, I wouldn't know how to do an inmate's time calculation if my life depended on it. It actually involves several complicated math formulas based on information that I don't have access to. And my agency's head administrator had to sign off on my report cards when I was in the police explorer program in high school. He knows how well I get along with math.

My sad math skills have been an inside joke for years.

I hope she actually gets him on the phone. I wish I could be a fly on the wall, cuz I'd love to see the look on her face when he busts out laughing.

I picked up a Sealy memory foam, made with latex according to the packaging, from Sam's Club. Good deal too only $535.00 after tax. Mother-in-law has one, but she paid $1000.00 at a mattress store.

If anyone is interested, I'm going to start a mattress thread in The Club House section. I'm going to try to do it tonight or tomorrow. I hope it helps because mattresses are one of the most confusing products to shop for unless you have been in the industry.

Anyone who is interested, I just started the mattress thread in The Clubhouse section. It's called "Mattresses: No More Mysteries".

The highlight of my day today was arriving in Ohio after a 16 hour drive from Oklahoma and surprising my mom and one of my sisters.

I hope they weren't in the shower at the time!

Kidding. I know you wouldn't do that. Very nice.

I have not left the house for a few days now, but today I was feeling pretty good so I went for a drive in the country where I am at home. I found some mistletoe in a tree, required a bit of climbing to get it, but I brought it home. Stopped by my friend's winery (some time after closing) and picked up a couple of bottles of wine for gifts. I got home and presented the mistletoe to my house mate and also brought in the wine (I did get one bottle of her favorite) and she was truly ecstatic. I was thinking we could give mistletoe to the neighbors as gifts. The whole bunch of it ended up as a chandelier. Anyhow, she is happy, happy, happy and cooking a wonderful dinner.

The highlight of my day was my friend showing up to watch Football with me, after I had a poor nights sleep, like I always do this time of year when I am reminded of having lost both my Parents, and seeing the Giants win a meaningless game. Gee this crap doesn't get any easier...

Edit: lost them both in December, and 12/8 was also Moms b-Day
