Blame the HMOs and insurance providers, that's where the bloat is.
nah....most nurses are overpaid diaper and band aid changers....I've changed diapers, I didn't get paid absurd amounts to do it......

almost every one I've ever dealt with are rude, unhelpful, and if you're lucky...bossy. the best advice for heath care in America....don't get sick.

It's hard when they get better and leave, and you never see them again. Even harder if they dont get better, and you lose them. Sometimes i just have to find a place to hide for 5 min, get it together, and get back to work... But i love my job,,wouldn't want to do anything else...
I would want to get those big bucks for doing almost nothing as well....

you must be one in a million....most nurses are terrible, plain and simple.

they are paid WAY too much. just another reason healthcare is overpriced!

What about all those crazy diseases? Needle pricks, blood spray, airborne stuff, etc. It scares the sh!t out of most people.

I don't know what kind of hospital you're going to, but almost every nurse I've ever met has been compassionate, nice, and very willing to help.

Not trying to piss you off man, you're bashing nurses without all the facts, just like some bash teachers without all the facts.

yup....basically a bunch of lazy bioches in pajamas and old lady shoes gossiping.....

seriously, cindy. I admire the way you spoke so passionately about the people you care for. it is also exactly the same way my friends who teach speak of their students. students they reach in their own pockets to buy clothes and food. students that they care for and love more the students parents do in many situations. there ARE some really good teachers busting their asses, getting hammered form every direction while trying to drag hopeless kids out of the gutter.

think on it! they are in a profession not unlike like yours. their stock is in people. there are bad teachers and nurses. but most are good people who choose to spend their work hours helping people vs grabbing dollars. no need to rag on teachers cause they get laid off every summer imo......

hawkguy will fly away again....no mod slaps necessary!

I'm surprised I haven't asked everyone to stop the stupid ridiculous discussion. I hate it when my threads divulge into nothingness. This has simply been petty back and forth with really no clear argument that I can see.

Some people have a natural prejudice against teachers. Others do against military, LE, what have you. I got it. I understand.

That doesn't change my view that a good teacher, just like a good nurse, can dramatically impact the lives of those they are teaching, or nursing.

I couldn't give a flying eff how teachers get paid, whether its for a full twelve months or for nine just spread out over 12. Its just semantics, in my mind.

Seriously people, only about two or three of you had anything remotely helpful to say about the profession of teaching, and one of the guys who was moderately helpful is a self-professed socialist. Some of you should be ashamed.

Anyway. For those of you who had constructive things to say, I thank you. For those of you who have just been quibbling over nothing, please take it to PM or a new thread.

Thank you.
