Default Helping fil sell 3 guns, need approx value.

Im helping my fil sell 3 guns for a friend and wondering if you guys could fill me in on the approximate value of them.

The first and best is a Remington Model 700, 6 mm with bull barrel and Weaver 6x38mm scope. Rifle is in a beatiful stock, finish is smooth as glass with zero blemishes on either the stock or metal surfaces. He said he wants 1000 obo, and said the owner told him between the rifle and scope it's worth 2300. Im not sure tho as i dont know much about Remington 700's, i just know they are considered to be among the best.

Second is a Smith & Wesson .41 Mag revolver 6 shot in perfect condition. Asking 575 obo

Third is a Remington Model 10 12 ga pump, its a little beat up, got some dings and finish is wore. Asking 250 obo.

Just wondering if our starting prices are reasonable.

Remi 700 is beyond my knowledge...

S&W .41 Mag... $575 sounds more than fair. Not an expert on the .41's but I do know they have a faithful collector following so I'd do some serious research on that one, he may have a $1000.00 gun?

Remi 10... New "extended mag Remi 870's on Mossy's "synthetics" are going for $299 to $350 so $250 may be a bit steep. Unless there's some collector base I'm unaware of I'd think that $175.00 would get it sold.

Good Luck

Tack

SKS,

The Remington 700-V 6mm Rifle $750-$900 max. The scope is not an expensive scope! If purchased all new it could be purchased for under a $1000 with a little shopping around. No way $2300!
The S&W 41 Magnum in excellent condition the $575 is a good more than fair price
The Remington Model 10 in original condition $200 -$250 is not a bad price if the bore is good in it and the action works properly. That due to its age but they built around 276,000 of them so no real collector value unless someone just wanted one. But plenty of them out there! Nice guns!

Thanx for the info guys, ill do a little more research on the S&W. I may already have a potential buyer for the Model 10. Based on sniper's $750-950 assesment of the Model 700 i think 1000 would be a good starting point, i think the owner's bottom dollar on it is $600.

On the 700, I have the ADL version with the same stock (but with checkering) and in the same condition, but in 30-06 and with a semi glossy blued finish. It looks like your buddy has the BDL version (worth more. Not sure how much though).

My ADL was $400. It didn't have a scope on it.

That was gonna be my next question, wasnt sure what designation it was. Ive heard of the ADL and the BDL but not sure of the difference. Are there any other Model 700 designations?

sks,

The BDL will have a magazine drop plate to unload the rounds from the magazine out the bottom of the rifle. The ADL is solid and the rounds must be removed from the magazine by operating the bolt. The BDL is worth more than the ADL as to original price and resale. Most of the 700 Rem Var rifles on the Internet are running from around 650-800 just for information. The $1000 is high. If it had Leupld VX III or other top of the line scope it would be up there.

As Sniper said, the BDL has a mag drop plate, and the ADL is solid. The ADL is the economic version (I don't think they make it any more ), but it's every bit as good as the BDL.
There's also a CDL, it's basically a BDL with a classic stock (straight stock with soft semi gloss finish). I don't think it comes with sights. You have to either get some and have them installed, or put a scope on it.
There's also an SPS which comes with a synthetic stock (don't know what else) and an XCR which is designed for rough conditions.
I think thats all the different 700 models.

Yea its definately a BDL because I did open the mag base plate and look in at the action.

There's also no sights on it, but id expect that since its a bull barrel.
