Default Help with a Trade?? Is it worth it?

I came across a guy who wants my Winnie '95... for trade, he has:
SS Colt 1911 Officers Model; 80 series
AMT Automag .22 Mag.
Marlin 39A - 60's era

Out of these im kinda interested in the 1911 and the Marlin 39A.
Although the 1911 isnt the kind I want, any Colt 1911 is better than no 1911,
And the Marlin, Well a take down lever gun that shoots .22 S,L, & LR, thats just F@#%& Awesome!!

About how much are these guns worth? Im asking $1,800 for the Winnie and had lots of inquiries on it, just none as serious as this guy...

As far as dollar value, you'd be on the losing end of that trade. However, the question you need to ask yourself is how much would the guns be worth to you in a trade like this.

Are you needing the money? It would be a bad deal for you. Would you be happy with the three guns he's offering for trade? It might be a good deal for you. Do you plan on trying to sell the guns for a profit? You'd lose out.

Figure, you could sell the Colt for about $650 (depending on condition and if you have the box, mags, etc...) The two rimfires wouldn't go for but a couple hundred each...

There's a difference between what a gun is "worth" and what you can sell it for.

Its a sporting carbine with a 20" barrel, most I see have 22"-24" ones. It was built in 1899. In .30 US (.30-40) caliber. Most everything is original, I just replaced a couple springs. I was told at a local shop its in about 40-50% condition, and because the sporting carbines are rare, that its worth a minimum of $1,600...
Pics of the rifle are here: http://www.firearmstalk.com/forums/f18/fixin-up-my-winchester-1895-a-42450/index6.html#post528360

The only gun I really want is the marlin... I dont like stainless guns... (go figure? my dream car is a Delorean..) Id really prefer military type guns, ex. actual military 1911, or what I really am dieing for a IHC M1

Don't do it. If you want to go for something/s different, sell the 1895 and use the cash to buy exactly what you want.

I decided I really dont want the 1911... I dont need a gun thats gonna blind me when I pull it on one of these "beautiful" Arizona days...

I guess how much is the Marlin 39A worth?
Its the only one I would want outta the deal.. How much cash should I ask with the Marlin? Then I could actively start my hunt for the M1 with some $$$ in my pocket...

I still wish the shop that appraised my '95 woulda traded for the 1911 they had. its was a U.S Army 1911 that looked to me to be pre-A1, But it was on consignment and that they cant trade guns on consignment..

The marlin should be about $4-600 depending on condition and actual age. The first two digits of the serial depict age.

Why do you feel it necessary to list your guns?

I got some new offers on my '95....

A 1916 model 1914 DWM 9x19 commercial Luger, all matching but the rear toggle link...

Or a...

Bushmaster Assault Rifle, the old blocky .223 with the folding stock, not the newer AR copys...

Whats these worth? Would either be a good deal?
Whats the difference between a commercial Luger and a military one?
Anybody shoot the old Bushmasters? Are they any good?

I would pass on both deals. They're just not worth it monetarily.
