Default Help in choosing a camcorder

I am going P-dog shooting in early June and I want to make some cool videos.

The only problem is that the only video camera I have is a Flip video and I'm afraid that the limited zoom won't help me get very good shots of the red mist.

I hope you tech guys (or parents of young kids) can give me some good advice. I see Panasonics and Sonys with 80g hard drives....is that what I want or do I want some kind of removable storage media?

Any help would be appreciated!

I have this and I am very happy with it. It uses SD card and I got 2 x 16 GB as listed below.

Amazon.com: Panasonic HDC-SD60K SD Based Hi-Def Camcorder with 35X Intelligent Zoom (Black): Camera & Photo

Amazon.com: Transcend 32 GB Class 10 SDHC Flash Memory Card TS32GSDHC10E: Electronics

BTW, This is supposed to be the newer version of my camcorder.
Amazon.com: Panasonic HDC-SD80K HD SD Card Camcorder (Black): Camera & Photo

Good luck!

Depending on your budget, there are a few options. My suggestion is to go with a video-capable DSLR. I'm fond of the Canons myself, but many folks like the Nikons.

With one of these cameras you can get results that was once the demesne of $10K cameras. Best of all, you can switch out the lens to a good zoom.

Thanks, I have a Nikon D7000 that does excellent video, but the storage length is too limited for this purpose, only about 20 minutes.

But I guess another option would be to just buy three or four or more SD cards for the Nikon. Maybe that's what I'll do.

I would go with the JVC . 1080p HD video 120 gig HDD plus it takes micro sd cards for extra storage.

That is suh-weet, but WAY more than I wanted to spend. Guess I should have said that beforehand.

My kid is grown, so I doubt I'll be using it much after the p-doggin, so don't want to spend a lot.

My DSLR will work well, just wasn't thinking in terms of video for it. I really only use it for still photos.

One of my shooting buddies bought the camera adaptor for his Leupold spotting scope. He hooks it up to his laptop at the range and zooms in the on the bullet holes while video taping. Works great, but a heavy tripod is necessary as the muzzle blast shakes the camera a bit.

Well Lon throw me a dagum bone here and tell me just how much you want to spend.

I high quality 1080p cam corder can make you tons of cash from all the porn movies you could make as well.

What if we started making FTF gone doggin with Lon and Tango. I will be the straight man as that would make it even more funny....
