I've never owned a boat But I took the Coast Guard course with my brother when he bought his. I enjoyed it a lot. MY brother sold his boat about 6-8 years later and I have probably forgotten most of it by now.

I've got a small aluminum fishing boat. Its a 1969 Monarch 14' flat bottom. I just run an electric trolling motor because all or most the lakes in my area worth fishing are electric only lakes.

I haven't taken any classes and don't plan on it.

I've also always wanted a family fun type boat like a party barge, something to take the family out and go swimming/fishing and barbeque on but my little aluminum boat is ok for now.

I got a buddy who has a Caravelle Interceptor for sale cause they don't use it a lot.

Just remember to put in the bilge plug BEFORE you launch the boat.
