Hate Crimes...what's the difference?
Why are we putting more importance on motives? If you take my life because of my race or sexual orientation vs. a robbery or violent conflict...you still took my life. I guess, so-called hate crimes automatically gets the feds involved..is that how it works? IMO, these laws are garbage and are disrespectful to victims of violent crimes in general. They seem to diminish the value of human life. Is it just me?...Am I missing something?

IMHO, you're not missing anything.
It's a continuation of the whole victimhood mentality. It divides people and is inherently unfair. I'm sure I'm not the only one to notice that black on white crime is NEVER hateful.

I don't have much knowledge on this subject, but in my opinion motives should not matter a whole lot, because murder is murder regardless of why it was committed.

We have always been a divided country.
1)Hate crimes against color.
2) Hate crimes against gender.
3) Hate crimes against sexual preference.
4) Hate crimes for religion.
What will be #5 ?
I am going to say political preference.
Any suggestions?

We dont have that garbage here in this state, you find in the extreme liberal states!

Come on, don't start using slurs. I don't care for their lifestyle, but they should be protected TO THE SAME DEGREE as every other American.
