If it is set down on a flat surface it must be upside down. Better to hang it on an appropriate hook within your view so it does not get mesed with.

Okay, I had the day off, and this is intriguing me, so I ran down to Tractor Supply to take a look (I have neither a tractor or a farm, wannabe).

I just left with a cheap Chinese straw hat, just to get a feel for the whole hat thing. $11.

I gotta tell ya, in all seriousness, while I'm sure I probably look ridiculous, I feel pretty "F"ing manly. I could get used to this, and could see upgrading.

Not $400 worth, but I could see $100.

I don't know why, but I have this image of you strutting around your place with your brand new hat and a pair of boxer shorts, posing in front of a full length mirror and it is a VERY disturbing image.... LOL

LOL, THAT is too funny......funny because its true. In fact this entire thread is highly amusing....and oddly has me wanting to check out cowboy hats as well... And I am the furthest thing from a farmer, cowboy or anyone else traditionally associated with cowboy hats. I DO have to admit though, that I have wanted to get a revolver ever since I got into firearms this past summer.

Yeah, I went through this phase as well. First you start thinking about the hat, then you start thinking about maybe ONE pair of really nice boots too.

Something exotic. Stingray. Shark. Etc.

Don't worry, it will pass... LOL

This has been a very informative read fellas. I have always wondered why the country-western folk always look like they are coming from, or going to, a Halloween party. Cowboy hat, boots, starched jeans, double breasted plaid shirt, boat anchor belt buckle, whole nine yards.

I am seeing it's a progression from one thing to another untill Roy Rogers himself would be proud.

Sorry, I'm from Vermont. No "cowboys" here. I have to laugh at the ones who dress this way considering they've never left the north east. Can't say I ever saw anyone wear everything all at once when I was in Oklahoma. They have real "cowboys" there right?

Guys, if you're on the fence, try it. I'm on my way to the convenience store for some poorly wrapped rugged looking cigars. In my manly Cowboy hat.
