It's always been 5280. The only way I could remember it was that a 1/4 mile dragstrip was 1320 ft.
On a side note, did anyone see the thing on Fox that showed some of the blatant liberal lies in the current school history books? Very disturbing(but not surprising) that the text books aren't telling the truth.

Yeah. I'm wrong and freely admit it. I was sure it was 5,284 - but even the old Encyclopedia Brittanica lists it at 5,280.

I have admitted to her superiority, in the open and in front of some friends we had over last night, so I have eaten my crow and I have to say I do not enjoy the taste... LOL

It's 5,284 when you're running a marathon. If you've run out of gas in the winter, it's actually 9,286' to the mile. If you're late for a flight, tack on another 1,100 feet per mile.
I won't even get into the measurements for various digestive matters.

Yes I do. I probably still have one in a box of my old stuff in storage.

Do you remember when TANG was THE morning drink because it was developed for Astronauts?

Do you remember when "Gator-Aid" was actaully under investigation by the NCAA because they feared it was giving an "unfair" advantage to the Florida Gators?

OK, OK... Ipana Toothpaste, Howdy Dooty, Sky King, and... "BRYLCREAM, a little dab will do ya."

I'd walk a mile for a CAMEL, and my favorite:"LSMFT"

Hey, don't worry about it, just use this one to impress you're friends. 1 mile = 63,360 inches.
