Gun porn in reverse

I wonder how many Americans realise the crimes being commited against classic and iconic firearms this side of the pond. As you may be aware assault weapons cannot be exported to the US from Europe. Consequently guns worth thousands of $ in the states have little or no value over here and are being DEACTIVATED butchered in fact, barrels plugged firing pins cut off chambers welded shut auto bolts welded on like Thomson 1928. Take a look at this.

I can't even look. It would be too depressing.

That's just such an unbelievable waste of fine firearms

The horror... the horror...

Nothing new. The UK gov destroyed all the lend lease personal firearms Americans sent them before we entered the war. "Too expensive" to find the original owners and return them. Couldn't let anyone else have them, so.... off to the North Sea and other places to dump them.

I figgure they owes us money for them.... :D

I'm surprised they don't post them on gunbroker to make some money selling to Americans. Seems like they really need the cash and they are destroying things we would pay a lot of money for.

Does seem [typically] ridiculous.

But what's more stupid than this? Having to hold a Collector's licence as many deactivated guns like these (plus replicas) are considered 'prohibited weapons', and classified just as 'real' firearms would be

I'm glad I'm on this side of the pond. Hey dayboy, can you pick some up cheap and mail them to me?

masterPsmith 06-09-2010 01:50 PM

Sucks, don't it.........

Jim....:(:(
