I shouldn't be so surprised. No wonder criminals aren't afraid of consequences. What a disservice to victims, tax payers, and the convicts.

I read about this a while ago.
Back then Obama wasn't the President. So does that mean he brought this around while in office in Illinois?

snopes.com: Palatial Prison

While I hate Obama as much as the next guy, he didn't have anything to do with this prison.

It's a "showcase" prison in Australia where it is a trail case for better treatment of prisoners leads to less needed security and therefor a lower cost to taxpayers in the long run.

Don't agree with it, wish I could blame Obama for it, but not this time I am afraid...

I kinda figured that it was not in Clark Co. Seriously, where would they find the land to build it in one of the most congested counties in the country? I could see something like that being proposed in Illinois or California.

It reminds me of some of the prisons highlighted in a documentary on Canadian prisons i watched a few years ago.
