Default A good day plinking

Sometimes we do "target practice" but some days we just like to plink for fun. Today was such a day. Wife and I with three other friends went to a friend's private property (60,000 acres) and set up targets and just had fun. Between the five of us we brought 7 pistols, four semi-auto rifles and three shotguns. Went through about 300 rounds of 9mm, 200 rounds of .223, 100 rounds of 7.62, almost 100 rounds of shotgun shells, some 40 and some 22lr. Not a lot of rounds for sure but enough to put smiles on our faces. One of my buddies that went with us is a Sheriff who qualified in the top ten in our whole county and HOLY COW his groups are tight! He makes the rest of us look bad. My Sheriff buddy said next time he is going to bring some balistic gel for us to shoot. We plan to video it and have some fun with that.

Curious what other people on here consider "a good day plinking?"

Ok. 60,000 acres.
60,000.
Damned you!
I miss Arizona.
I now have to go to ranges.
Again, damned you, sir!

Oh my I love living in Arizona! Gorgeous 70 degrees, good friends, great guns and alot of ammo. I got a new to me 20GA Remington 870 Wingmaster and had a bunch of fun with it! Love shooting our AR, gotta try out the 7.62 round for the 1st time thru our friends rifle (good stuff) and best of all a private shooting area! Our friend that is the LEO makes us regular people look pretty sad but he is one of the top 10 in AZ Law Enforcement and a master shooter so if his groups are less than 2" and ours are 5" I suppose we aren't doing so bad.

I said top ten in the county, not country. He ranked top ten among Sheriffs in Maricopa county. I'm sure there are a lot of better shooters than him, but he is pretty damn good and way better than me.

A bad day plinking is still better than a good day at work.

I thought Sheriff Joe Arpaio was the one and only Sheriff of Maricopa County, AZ?

Were y'all shooting with Sheriff Joe? That would be !

No, all of the LEOs that work for Maricopa County are called Sheriffs, Joe is the Head Sheriff in Charge though! and that would be pretty awesome to shoot with him, I bet he has some really cool guns to bring! And a tank!

Our friend is a Master Shooter and top ten of all the LEOs that work for Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. He is good, and not arrogant about it. If anything he offers tips and tries to help us all be better shooters, super nice guy.

Sounds like a good day to me. I'm hoping to get out in the next couple days and go shooting. Normally I go plinking, shoot some paper and have a good time with some friends and family.
