Could be the damn undergorund Martian cow farts. They'll have to send up a probe to measure the methane they release. Just like they did here in Ca. at UC Davis a few years ago with some several million taxpayers dollars. Or could it be that they are wrong that the Sun is only half way through it's main sequence evolution.
You know they say in about 5 Billion years it will enter the "Red Giant" phase.
As a "Red Giant" the sun will have a maximum radius beyond Earths current orbit.
Could they be wrong and is this phase is it beginning now?
Could it be the planet Mars natural axial "wobble" and a shift in its axis in relation to the Sun? (Earth does the same thing too.)
Or is it the Suns 41,000 to 100,000 year magnetic field fluxuation that has regulary occured since it's been in it's present state?
I think I'll go with the Martian cow farts!
