I have never read where they were US GI's only that when he was 15 he witnessed a girl get gang raped. He was born in 1954 so that would have been in 1965 which technically was after WWII but....

That's what I was thinking, too.

I think I'll read the books. My ex-husband liked to watch those psychological thrillers. At the end of the movie, more often than not, I'd say, "What the heck just happened?" I guess I'm a little like Scott.

This is what I would suggest. I will warn you the first book is very dry and can be hard to keep reading but it lays down the foundation & really picks up towards the end. My wife had read it before me and every time I was at the point where I would say I can't read this anymore she would continue to nudge me. Telling me it will be worth it to read it all. I did and was I glad I did. I couldn't wait to start reading the 2nd and breezed through it in no time then had to wait for the 3rd to come out.

My ex-husband and I didn't like sending each other out to rent a movie. We never liked what the other brought home. LOL

Well take it with a grain of salt. That's what I read.

i dont like rading movies so i watched a bit with subtitles and then switched to the voice overs and it didnt seem to make a diff so i watched with the voice over. i dont like sub title only movies it forces my eyes to the bottom of the screen and i miss half the movie. hate that more than anything.

watch the swedish one with rapace in it. the american version sucks ass
