I like this one way better! If you do succeed in building it then maybe you could make it like this instead. I feel it's a better model than that wood one

Gauss guns are a staple of hardcore Sci-Fi (space opera). Alastair Reynolds, Ben Bova, Stephen Baxter all use them in their stories. One I recently read had a Gauss gun (railgun is how it was called, I think) that was 2,000 kilometers long, firing a depleted-uranium slug that destroyed the rail as it passed, to take out a ship several light-years away.
I want THAT gun!
