Default Jimmy Hoffa Shoes......

My father made head cheese for the holidays and every one loved the stuff. My mother made her fruit cake that I think she started just after thanks giving and it was finaly finished on the 12th of Dec., only die hard fruit cake lovers with a cast iron stomach could eat this ......This concoction fermented on the counter and each day she would add something else. The weight of it was something like mercury........The head cheese only took one day..........

That's why I've never made a fruitcake. To do it right takes a long time.

As for head cheese, I think you and my Dad are the only two people in the world that eats that crap. I almost gag when my Dad makes a sandwich out of it. Then he teases me by dangling a piece over his mouth and slowly lowering it in. I have to leave the room. My Dad also eats chicken feet. I'm thinking maybe you do, too.

I've considered attempting to make a fruitcake from scratch but it's a pretty long process that I'm just not willing to tackle. And if I screw it up, it's an expensive mistake.

So, here we go...........
With enough rum fruitcake can be good....

It's that gel crap that holds it all together that disgusts me, really.
