There's a special chamber configuration, the Wylde chamber, that makes that possible. It prevents the bullet from engaging the barrel rifling too soon, which is the problem that occurs when a 5.56 round is fired from a strictly to spec .223 chamber. The tradeoff is slightly less accuracy.
Armalite has a tech note that talks about using the Wylde chamber in their stainless match barrels for the AR-15.

On my new .380 Ruger LCP it had a Florecent-Green round sticker on the left side of the frame,and my buddy had a Yellow round sticker on his...Anybody know what they stand fore ???...
