I've always pronounced it "Cah-sool", that could be wrong, but it's how everybody around here says it.

Since the "R" in 7.62x54R means rimmed, is there a 7.62x54 that is not rimmed?

Kahsuall.

If poaching is illegal, why are eggs the exception?

The "R" refers to the type of rim on th 7.62X54R. The other is indeed rimmed, but the 7.62x54 (no "R") rim is a smaller diameter. The designation "R" is used so the ammo is loaded into the correct firearm that it is chambered for.

All this talk about rimming...

I will be using this thread extensively...

First question, how many times can you reload brass?

According to my research, I've determined the following....

7.62x51 ammunition is safe to use in a firearm chambered for .308 winchester, but .308 cannot be fired in a firearm chambered for 7.62x51 ?

Is this similar to the pressure issue of 5.56 firearms shooting .223, but not the other way around?

If there is the .357 Maximum and the .357 Magnum, does that mean there is a .357 Regular or .357 Light?

I know nothing of reloading, but you may want to get specific on this one, i.e., caliber, etc.
