Default Free Pass on Stupid "?" Thread

Just what it says.

We get an influx of new guys, and many are embarrassed to ask that burning question.

But then it occurs to me, some seasoned guys here may be laboring under misconceptions of their own.

I went to the store for Glasers, have a project in mind.

"Where do you keep your Glasers ( GLAY-sers)?"

Euro-techno weenie guy looks at me condescendingly. "We keep our Glasers (GLAHH-sers) over here."

I still don't think he's right, but since I've only seen it printed, and never heard it spoken, I could be wrong.

We abide by two rules in this thread.

1) No question is stupid.

2) Anything asked here isn't brought up again outside this thread, or held against the one who asked.

"I have a serious question for you." "yes?" "I want to know what a womans vigina looks like."
-The Office

When I read this thread that quote was in my mind so strong.

-back on track
Is it illeagal to jump off of a bridge?
Is it illeagal to buy an item from a store more than one time?
Do you have to have a license to spear fish?
Is it considered poaching to kill an animal with a slingshot?
Is it considered poaching to kill an animal with a trap.

1) Jumping off a bridge is illegal without a permit.

2) I don't know....

3) Yes

4) Specific to state

5) Specific to state

As for the first question, it is markedly different than a man's.

I have heard it pronounced Glah-zers. Sorry to side with the techno weenie but there it is. Also have always heard Cu-sool.

Merriam -Webster's Collegiate Dictionary defines poach as:

Main Entry:2poach
Function:verb
Etymology:Middle French pocher, of Germanic origin; akin to Middle English poken to poke
Date:1611

intransitive senses
1 : to encroach upon especially for the purpose of taking something
2 : to trespass for the purpose of stealing game; also : to take game or fish illegally
transitive senses
1 : to trespass on *a field poached too frequently by the amateur Times Literary Supplement*
2 a : to take (game or fish) by illegal methods b : to appropriate (something) as one's own

However, to ask questions of legality, "check your local listings as our options may have changed since your last call."
