in my area, the throwbacks are not a regular item. i much prefer the old Mtn. Dew over the newer one.

Several items:

The recipe for coke was published in a magazine article around the depression era, and reprints of this are on the internet. Check it out, and mix up a batch.

In the early 80s when Coke changed their formula, and through public opinion, switched back again, the formula did not switch back to the original. The original formula felt like it was removing hairs in your throat if you chuged a 16 oz bottle, and after the brew ha ha, that sensation was gone. The taste was sweeter as well, more Pepsi like.

Aspratame causes blindness in some people, and is hard on eyesight on most everyone. It is against the law to sweeten drinks with the stuff in many places in the world, except the USA where the lobby groups pay so much money to DC kickbacks.

Diet pop does a chemical flip flop inside the body, and produces a compound akin to formaldehyde once the temperature of the soda reaches body temperature. Beware of diet pop.

Dr. Pepper as a fountain drink all over around here. I like to mix 75% DDP and 25% regular DP.

Around here the QT gas stations have the best fountain drinks. (And hot dogs if you'll go there) They have a large selection and the mixture is always right.

I'll do Dr Pepper if I'm craving a dark soda or Mt Dew if I'm wanting a lighter soda.

The new machines that dispense fifty or so different sodas use really impressive technology.
We have one of the new machines at our local BK. Everyone wanted to try it at first, but the taste is lacking compared to say Chick fil'A. <------Best FF restaurant ever.

I can't tell the difference in all sodas, but I like Mountain Dew in cans the best, except for the throwback in the bottles, that is my absolute favorite.

When it comes to fountains, they mix on site. Sometimes the mix is off, and some times, the proprietor waters it down to save a few cents.

You should try those 100+ flavor coke machines, those are the best!

Better stop now. Too many people don't want to hear the truth, don't believe it, or don't believe that it would be legal if harmful.

The Mexican large bottles as the post above is right it taste better. Also the Mexican coke has sugar from sugar cane in it unlike beet sugar or corn sugar in us made coke.

We blame many things for the decline of our society. The lack of religion, Socialism, Communism and childhood obesity. The facts are the Nation went to hell when people first poured soda pop into Kentucky Bourbon.
