I don't know about that, a friend had a pet steer named Beef. He sure was good eating.

Shihan, don't get too close! The damned things have beaver like front teath and will take a finger right off. If you're bitten, it will get infected and take for ever to heal.

I grew up on a small farm. Named every steer, hog, lamb and even some chickens.
Ate every one, never really bothered any of us.
Well maybe a little misty eyed when I sent my first 4-H steer to the sale then loaded it to the slaghterhouse.
It's nice being at the top of the foodchain, please pass the nutria gravy

Target practice. I still remember seeing some Discovery Channel show that had a bit with some SWAT (or similar) shooters using 10-22's & some kind of suppressors to shoot those things in the canals IN TOWN in New Orleans, off a flat bed trailer, supposedly really good practice for moving targets.

Good luck getting rid of them.

That's a little evil. Just in the bringing them and then asking to be paid to remove them. Otherwise I'm game. I think they're having problems with them on the Gulf Coast. Maybe look for a Nutria hunting trip? I'm going down that direction in the summer. I can't wait.
