Great News Winds! Post up a pic of him when all is finished. We would like to see who this mystery Toby is.

He will have his own thread. The very first picture will be of him in his crate at the airport. The way I first see him will be the way you all first see him.

The vet said Toby's about 10 pounds overweight. I'm going to have to do something about that. I think Riverrat was generous with the table scraps.

Prayers to those affected.

I booked Toby's flight. He leaves LV Sunday at 945. Then he has a connecting flight in Atlanta (there was no direct flight, no way around this). He arrives in Atlanta at 1645 then flies out of Atlanta at 1925. He'll arrive at Chicago O'Hare airport Sunday night at 2035. At each airport he will be in a temperature controlled holding area with a human present at all times. He will be tended to with food and water in his layover. I pay when I pick him up.

Kirk has the health certificate and the cage sise the airlines recommended.

I am so incredibly excited to have this journey almost over.

Yay! Glad things are working out

Yes, I am excited, too. Where Toby is it's about 0820. His planes leaves LV at 0945. I hope to hear from Kirk when he gets home telling me it's "all systems go".

I hope to God Toby's not a dog aggressive dog nor will he want to kill my cat. I'm prepared for such situations but I sure hope I don't have to deal with it.

Best of luck and thanks for doing this! We've adopted several over the years that others couldn't keep for one reason or another but never this type of situation or this amount of work.

Riverrat was my online friend, a Vietnam Vet and he asked me to take his dog. It's what gave him peace of mind. He typed out, with one finger, a last request to me three days before he died. I shared that email with a couple others here on the forum. I would never say I'd do something then not do it.

But don't any other of you guys get the idea............
