I'll keep you all posted. I'm getting excited. Toby will have his own thread here once I receive him. The first picture of him will be him in his crate at the airport.

Things have finally all fallen together. It's been a month since Riverrat has been gone.
This is good news!! THanks for the update Winds!!

I just got off the phone with Kirk. We are aiming for Sunday to send Toby on the airplane. He's waiting to receive the crate someone donated to see if it's the right sise. He's transferring money to Toby's Paypal account. I'll buy the ticket Wednesday or so when I get all the donated money and Kirk's transfer into the Paypal. Hopefully this will all be over soon.

Okay, I'm all ready to buy Toby's ticket to fly to Illinois. I haven't received any money from Kirk yet that he took out of RR's account. I'm going to call and remind him. Grrrr..........

I'm pretty sure he's sick of hearing from me by now.

But here's a funny Kirk story. We sometimes chit chat for a minute or two after conducting business. I don't want to leave him ticked off at me. He has a 13 year old Rat Terrier that is deaf and has cataracts and going blind. He said he wants to get another dog when his current one passes. I asked him what breed was he considering. He said "red heeler". I asked him why he doesn't adopt Toby. He said he prefers female dogs (as do I) because they are about 1/3 smaller than the males and the sise is better suited to him. Then he added, "They like to have belly rubs and the dick gets in the way in male dogs." And that's a quote. I just laughed at him. I rub my male dogs belly on either side of his "dick". I just don't prefer male dogs because they lift their leg on landscaping, etc.

It's a dog, for chrissake. They don't think of their 'dicks' like humans do. Sheesh!!

Maybe Kirk just has a problem with dicks in general.

Okay, Kirk deposited some money into my Paypal account. I have enough to buy a ticket to fly Toby to Illinois. I have an appointment at the hair salon this morning then I will call Delta and make the flight arrangements. I think we are rounding the backstretch on this project.

I thank you all so much for your support. I'm afraid I might have given up if it weren't for all of you.

The donated cage was too small, as I suspected. It will be donated to the animal shelter near Kirk. Today Kirk is taking Toby to the vet for a health certificate and to Petsmart to buy an appropriate travel cage. After an appointment I have this morning, I am calling Delta to book a flight for Toby on Sunday. The high temp Sunday here will only be 75. It's looking good!

Goodness sakes. Why can't anything go smoothly here?

I went to transfer Toby's money from my Paypal account to my checking account to buy his ticket. It takes 3-4 business days to clear, which brings me beyond the day I want to fly him. I am beyond angry. I don't have enough to cover it until the money goes through. I asked my oldest son to lend me some of the money until Monday when the Paypal will be transferred to my checking and I can pay him back. My son will deposit money into my checking account tomorrow.

I'm telling you, I can't wait until this is all over. Very, VERY frustrating. Grrr...........

It's been over a freakin' MONTH now.
