My wife lost her job at the end of the workday, the Monday before Thanksgiving Day. Totally unexpected. Because it was not a layoff, there was a question about whether she would be able to draw unemployment, and the spector of that possibility has been hanging over our heads like the proverbial cloud of doom ever since.

Well, today good news arrived in mail! She is getting to draw, and direct deposit of the first 2 checks is pending in our bank account this morning.

DOOM is postponed at least until the end of today's Liberty Bowl game.

She interviewed for one position a couple of weeks ago, which won't be decided until mid-January, and another position she applied for is planning to begin interviews by that time, so hopefully her stay on the Oklahoma dole will be short.
