I know all the stats I just can't shake it. Last year we went to florida which is a three hour flight for us. I was constantly checking the turbulence forecast ..... it completely rules my vacation I hate itm

just remember that the pilot in command, will do everything is his power to get you to your destination unharmed.airplanes are the saffest form of transportation there is.always remember the pilot will be the first person to a crash and he dont want that anymore than you.

That's not a fear of flying, it's a fear of dying.....

Look on the bright side, there hasn't been a commercial plane crash in the US in years.

The bigger risk is the drive to and from the airport.....

I don't so much have a fear of flying, it is more a fear of potentially unqualified drunken pilots flying a plane serviced my Mexicans who can't read the English written manuals secured by McDonald's dropout guards.

Most important thing, the pilots want to get where they are going too. They are highly trained an very motivated to get themselves home in one piece, You get to ride along and get there safely on their coattails.

I HATE flying, but not over safety concerns. I hate the whole TSA, hurry up and wait experience. Fear of safety, not a one.
I remember when I used to like airports.

There was a time when traveling via the airport was an enjoyable experience.
If I can't fly privately, I won't.

You need to get a better prescription then. Have you talked to your Doc about that?

I guess I should qualify that statement. I remember when I used to like airports before the TSA showed up. The airports where I can avoid them are still great places. The airports where they have set up their incompetence are miserable anymore.

I just worry too much. The two things that concern me are turbulence and mechanical failure. Two things I can't control
