Another Churchill, to a snotty American liberal woman after she told him "Winston if you were my husband I would put poison in your morning coffee." He Replied " Madam If I were your husband, I would drink it"

This one is obscure but it is one of my all time favorites. As the Americans were retreating after the Battle of Bunker Hill, General Prescott who was in command on the hill encountered General Putnam who did not bring him reinforcements.

Prescott: "Why did you not support me General, with your men?"
Putnam: "I could not drive the dogs up."
Prescott: "If you could not drive them up, you might have LED them up."

" I sit on a man's back, choking him, and making him carry me, and yet assure myself and others that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his lot by all means possible, except by getting off his back!

Leo Tolstoy!

Many quarrel about religion who ne3ver practiced it.

Ben Franklin

There is no substitute for victory.

General Douglas McArthur.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

I too like the memes

"If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so."
-Thomas Jefferson
We must always fear evil men, but there is another kind of evil that we must fear the most... And that is the indifference of good men!

"I'm ashamed of you, dodging that way. They couldn't hit an elephant at this distance." John Sedgwick
“Somebody has to speak for these people. Y'all got on this boat for different reasons, but y'all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this—they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people...better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin'. I aim to misbehave.” Mal Reynolds Serenity/Firefly
