Whiskey or Whisky was made by the Monks. The people of Scotland and Ireland tried to reproduce the Whiskey in America and came up with Bourbon. This was the only muscle relaxer and pain killer available. Men who worked hard did not have modern prescription and OTC pain killers.
A shot of whiskey usually mixed with water or fruit juice served in place of pills. The Doctors have replaced the Moon Shiners have things improved that much?

THE BEST COLD REMEDY

A handful of Girl Scout cookies, a double shot of Old Crow (make sure the bottle has floor wax splatters on it so you know it's a true BOTTOM OF THE SHELF bottle), a double EXLAX for cough prevention and finally....an aspirin.
