Default Favorite Childhood Christmas Gift

You had to have it. You were nauseous thinking Santa might have screwed up your order. You didn't give a rat's azz about anything else under the tree.
You knew you were the coolest kid on the block when you opened your....

Let's limit this to your pre-teen years.

My favorite was this flying helicopter that only went up and down and in circles either backwards or forward. You could hover and pick up pieces and fly around then set them down. It was mega dangerous because the props were fast and sharp.

My Matel Fanner Fifty's.

My folks gave me a single gun rig and my Aunt also gave me one, opened the same morning. I can remember her face when I opened my parents gift and then hers. I went to my room and put on both rigs, on in cross draw. Wore them that way until I discovered fishing. I have no idea what happened to those guns.

Ineff, I remember that one, but my brother got that one.

I'd have to say "The Mouse Trap" board game. Set up a series of traps kinda like Wile E. Coyote to trap someone else's mouse.

I was all "Planet of the Apes". I got an official Planet of the Apes Thompson, you pulled the bolt back, and got auto fire till the bolt went forward. It came with a cheezy gorilla mask, I spent the winter rounding up those damn dirty humans.

My first pocketknife was a key to another universe. Fort building, toy disassembly, spearmaking, whittling, there was now nothing I couldn't do, including adding to my scar collection.

The purple Schwinn Stingray I got when I was 11 in 1966. It was the coolest bike on the planet and I was THE man for having one!

P-51 Mustang gas powered fighter plane, that you controlled with a string harness, you stood in the middle as you flew it around in a circle. I begged for one and finally got it.

It made four complete circles, then did a uncontrolled steep dive to the ground where it busted into several pieces, that were not repairable.

It never flew again and my enjoyment of playing with it lasted approximately 10 minutes.

I then took my BB-gun out after that, and killed every damn bird I could within shooting range.
