I would like to jump in this thread and tell you all how much you all have changed my point of view. As you all know, I have been divorced for many years. My husband left because he didn't like the responsibility of a family. Many years later I bought a gun and joined this forum. I was amazed at how many men here really love their wife and kids. All the wonderful things the men here said about their wives, all the sacrifices the men here made for their wife and children. It was definitely an eye opener for me.

Now, I would like to say Happy Father's Day to all the men who are raising children. And there is a special place in my heart for those Step Dads and adoptive Dads who are lovingly raising children that are not biologically theirs. My son is raising a step daughter with love and kindness. I know many of you are, also.

I wish a very happy Father's Day to all you wonderful Dads who are making a difference in children's lives. You all are awesome.

I am raising a kitten. His name is Snowball. I rescued him from a feral litter when I turned the other siblings into the local Humane Society for adoption-out. This is as close to fatherhood as I will ever come. All of the 100+ women I have ever had a relationship with did not work out.

He has become a pretty good alarm clock for me.

He has learned that when the giant's eyes are open then the giant feeds him really good eats. But when the giant's eyes are closed then the giant does not move. So around 4 a.m. each morning he jumps up on my bed and licks my eyelids until they open. A funny little critter.

After feeding him, I get ready and get dressed and go to work. I'm usually the first person in the office at work this way. And I get a lot more done than ever before with an early start like that each day.

November of this year I will have been married to the most loving, caring, beautiful, sexy Lady for 50 years. She has been my companion, my moderator, my balance, my level, she has helped guide me through hard times and we have laughed through good and bad times. Those of you who raised children alone I don't know how you did it! Single Dads/Moms deserve a special medal! As I write this we have been taking care of an almost 2 year old for a couple of weeks! Anytime you think your reflexes are sharp try that for a week or two!
Happy Fathers Day to all of you!

Pas- congrats to another old poop that is in it for the long term.

Re: the 2 year old- hanging with the Grandkids- and now the Great-grandkids- is a ball! Yes, can be a challenge- but it does keep you young. And it is great to see the delight that can be derived from a Mickey D's Happy Meal.

Gives me a great excuse to watch cartoons, and eat Goldfish crackers (one for you, one for me)

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there.

Will be a low key day for this dad. My son is at the Naval Academy for summer seminar, and my step son is in Bahrain standing his post. (He is a Master at Arms)
