This video is getting a ton of views, and it’s sparking the kind of bitter, uninformed debate that YouTube is famous for. International students were promised internships, had to pay to come to the US, and soon found out that they’d been totally deceived. Instead of internships, they were working in a chocolate packing factory, where they were earning less than minimum wage after “exorbitant rent” was extracted from their paycheck for company housing. And when they tried to organize and better their situation, they were bullied by Hershey.
What do you think? Are they being taken advantage of? Should they just be happy their working?
