Worked with a guy who knew I mess with cars, he starts telling me how he pulled a big block Chevrolet motor out of a old car in a field. Thing is he done it all by hand, pulled the motor and carried it across a muddy field with no proplem. Only thing I could do is nod and smile because wasn't worth arguing over. Same as the others if you figured up all that he had done the man would of been old as Moses.

So there's a fair chance then that Gecko 45 is full of doo doo then?
Jeeez I sort of found him to be a rather entertaining adventurous if not too serious young man.

If your over 30, odds are good you've met one of these people w super low self esteem. You can confront them but remember, they aren't wrapped too tight to begin with...Lord only knows where it will go.

I try to politely nod and exit stage Left as soon as possible. Attention just feeds the beast.

no, he was the real deal

We had a local forum guy that stopped a robbery at a major store by "blading" his glock just enough for the 3 (or 4) bad guys to see. I believed him too!

On a serious note, there was a story, about how a guy interrupted a gas station potential that even the guy in the store thought was about to get robbed. One of the few stories that seemed legitimate.

The principal and the school board were hours away from bearing my wrath last year. My wife settled with them the day before the meeting.
I really wish I had taken them to task. The wife just wanted to end the situation.

There are great ways to bust liars :

I worked with a worthless jerk who claimed to have been a ' grunt ' in Vietnam . I quizzed : " What's a Bangalore " ? What's a Chi-Com ? " etc. He didn't know any answers .
" You never got as far as Thailand ! ", I exploded .

Funny part is that my Vietnam knowlege all comes from books I've read .
