I think this thread deserves a bump.

Yep, Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL).
Not only does he lie to the people, but he has demonstrated he is anti veteran, anti hunting, anti gun.

He does not follow the By-Laws of the National Democratic Party.

He voted against veterans (even if he is one)
He says he is a hunter (even hunted the dangerous python in the swamp), but votes to infringe on our rights of firearms.
He even voted to accept the UN Small arms treaty.

All done with a silly a$$ed smile.

Most people in politics are pathological liars. Last week an Obama spokesman was on face the nation. He was being questioned about the activities of the NSA. He said the NSA has not participated in any illegal activities. The first thing that popped to my mind is how can you say that? We all know the NSA was caught red handed monitoring the calls of the German Chancellor.

I doubt this guy is naive enough to think that monitoring the phone calls of a head of state is legal. Monitoring the calls of the head of state is an act of war, a crime punishable by death.

I knew one that claimed his pet gopher tortise, Tippy, would run and jump in his lap when he came home from work.

sadly, its not just politics, its everywhere. Some misunderstandings in life are perceptual differences for sure but most are comprised of one or more lies. Lies do beget lies, they usually start very small and are harmless and less than monumental. They grow like a tumor and spread to other hosts, before long, reality is the best and latest lie were convinced of.

I try never to even "Little White Lie", I just dont have room in my gray matter to keep up with them once you start, theres no end to where they lead. You never really have to work to remember the truth, its easy, I like easy...

Yup. I have known more than one "Topper". They're wicked annoying. Personally, I try to never do that, and I'd rather admit I don't know something rather than have people secretly think I'm full of sh!t. But, this one guy at my last job, WOW! He ALWAYS had some story to tell. More often than not, it involved guns. He (and his son, too) won, several times, national clays championships. He had an operation for his throat cancer, and went out and shot a whole day clays competition 4 days after. He was a factory representative for some high-priced shotgun company, (I forget who, it starts with a K), and they gave him a 20-something thousand dollar gun to do it with. This company at some point was bought by The Dupont family, so he knows them personally, too.
The BS just went on and on, about various subjects, on a daily basis. I did go on the internet, and look up his name. The only thing that popped up was his name in connection with a local skeet & trap competition from 1999. Not even a story, just 2 hits from the same place. I never called him on it, but I did fact-check him on several other occasions, calling BS every time. No point in calling someone like that, unless you have proof they can't dispute. I just know they're full of sh!t, smile and nod at their story, and occasionally make fun of them behind their backs.

My dad used to work with a guy that always talked about his Vietnam war stories. How he took shrapnel, got Agent Orange (which he used as an excuse to take off early a lot), did sniper missions, broke his back on a helicopter extraction, and on one of his "missions" he hid in a bush and an enemy patrol came by and one of the enemies stopped and peed on the bush he was hiding in. This guy was full of it, on top of the ridiculous stories, there is a crucial fact that calls BS.... He was born in 1971. He also claimed to be able to to be able to shoot a nickel at 600 yards with a .50 cal rifle (that he swore he owned) on his private range, but later said he hadn't fired a gun since Vietnam.

yep. ryan stevens of marion IN.
con'ed me out of reloading equipment on an iou and never paid me. been waiting for 2 years now...every time he would email me, he'd talk me up on some shotgunning conversation and totally blow off that he owed me money. when confronted, he'd promise to pay and the day would come and go. it doesnt phase him in the least that he lies and expects people to accept it.

So? I was born in '74, but I fought in the Korean war……LOL.

That reminds me. Another guy from the same place claimed to have a Weatherby chambered in 300 Win Mag that he could hit a bulls eye with at 500 yards, I think it was. I DID call him on that. I asked how often he shot? (Not often, or recently) I told him he should come shoot with us next time, and though I couldn't promise him 500 yds, I could give him at least 200. He shut right the F**K up.
