exactly! if it's yellow hot, it's on the verge of bending from being too hot!

Yep. Even before it turns red, if you throw cold water on it while hot as hell, it'll snap into a slight corkscrew. I think it has something to do with the stresses changing suddenly in relation to the rifling. Makes me wonder what kind of treatment those barrels get.

part of the reason many machine guns used a system that allowed fast and easy barrel changes. change it out and let the other coll down and then repeat as needed!

I never once changed my barrel in a fight. A hot poker makes a fine close quarters weapon

That is one face I'll never forget until the day I die. This turd who was, unbeknownst to me, hiding behind a door, decided to reach out with both hands and grab the barrel of my gun. I assume with the intent of disarming me and getting personal. I heard a sizzle and pop. He first snatched both hands to his chest, and then threw them both in the air and surrendered immediately. But the look on his face almost makes me think of the first time Sue wanted to try a lemon!

And the babble! Jeez, he would not SHUT UP with the crying, yapping, and flapping his hands around. I really did feel sorry for the bastard, because I burned my hands the exact same way as a private in SOI. My sergeant handed me a SAW barrel and I didn't realize it was hot.

I worked with a guy that would rather climb a tree to tell a lie vs. stand flat footed to tell the truth. Some of his claims: 1. Was born on a PT Boat 2. Taught ZZ Top the whole "ah how how" bit for the song La Grange 3. Made love to Janis Joplin (please, who didn't? ) 4. Knew way too many rock musicians 5. Just endless unbelievable drivel with no supporting evidence... Entertaining on rare occasion but usually aggravating.

I got my ass chewed once by a NASCAR driver's crew member. Because the service station I was working at didn't carry diesel fuel.

True or False?

I knew a guy that would lie about what he had for breakfast. No lie or exaggeration....I could never understand this type of people (person).
