I'd rather my own son see me die on my feet as a free man, than watch him go, broken, into slavery.

I thank god that at least one good thing coming of this divorce, whether I get custody or not, is that I will finally have the chance to get another catahoula. Here's a pic of my niece's catahoula. They're known for their loyalty and protectiveness of their family, and also for their coloring, and what is referred to as "cracked glass" eyes. I'll post a pic of some typical eye coloring in a moment, until then, enjoy the lighting effect on this "alien dog"

By the way, the catahoula was also a favorite of Jim Bowie, Daniel Boon, and at least 2 other Alamo defenders that I can't remember at the moment. I believe Jim Bowie had a brother that was fond of them too.

The cracked glass eyes. Notice how neither eye is completely blue. The catahoulas eyes can vary from the normal chocolate brown or black, to a bright sky blue. I was raised with this breed, and raised this breed myself (at one time, I had 23. Just happened to have 4 bitches that all had litters within 2 weeks) and I have NEVER personally seen one with either all blue, all brown, or unmixed. All of mine would have mismatched or cracked eyes.
