Default Does anyone work??

I started a new job a week ago. Does anyone work anymore? There is no urgency, pride, self respect. Friggin' lazy people!! Guys 20 years younger than me have no clue, nor can they keep up. None of them know that my "training" salary is much higher than what they make, and oh yes, I'm their new boss.
There are a few really good people, 30%.
It is so sad. No wonder why we as a country suck. Most want something for nothing. JP

Man, you're preachin' to the choir on this one! This new "Millennial" generation has a serious sense of....entitlement.

I can tell you that the majority of prior military under 30 do have a strong work ethic. I believe it comes from appreciating everything you have, and actually having to fight to defend it. Im 25 and Im proud of my fellow generation, active and prior military; entitled college kids-not so much.

I feel it all boils down to pride. Prior military? they got it. I'm 47 and can work a 20 year old co-worker into the dirt! Not patting myself on the back but when there is work to get done... He's always sayin Eff that, I dont get paid enough for that. I tell him yeah whatever and continue to get the job done. Pride in your accomplishments, even if it's a menial task, it does'nt matter. This is something I try to instill in my son, a strong work ethic.

Why work when osamaobama wants to make this a welfare state where we rob the rich to pay for the lazy?

It is sad really. I do not discriminate. I am allowed to have a minimum age. Just not a maximum. The truth is, in my opinion, the older the better. I have hired senior citizens that could out work a 20 year old. And the 20 year old will not even be embarassed about it. What happened to pride and competition in the work place?

IMHO, opaww nailed this one. Why bother to work when the government will provide everything you need.

Now when the working public quits supporting the welfare state - what then? Like someone's sig line reads: socialism is great until you run out of other folk's money...
