Formal shotgun weddings used shotguns with chromed side plates and engraving.

Do you remember when brides wouldn't think of walking down the aisle in a maternity gown?

motor oil came in cans made from cardboard with metal ends and you used a can opener to open them?

toothpaste came in a metal tube rather than plastic?

TV's and radios had tubes?

I remember being a kid and door to door salesmen where pretty common. WE had one guy talking to my mom trying to sell her what was the wave of the future for recording sounds. It was a Cassette tape.

Every Christmas eve we listened to a Christmas Carol on wax 78 RPM records. 33 1/3 was really common then but we had a record player that had the 78 setting

WE wanted certain cereals for the 45 rpm records on the back. They NEVER played well because the cardboard always curled when you cut it out.

I had a dozen Frito Bandito pencil toppers.

Tonka toys where all metal including the wheel hubs.

The screen on our TV was smaller than the screen on my desktop computer I use now.

I could come in after school, turn the TV on, walk in the kitchen and make a PB&J and pour a glass of milk and get back into the room before the TV warmed up enough to see the screen.

It was very common to leave the house by 9-10 AM and not be seen at home again until supper time at 6PM

I rode to St. Louis Mo. form Cincinnati Oh. sleeping in the rear deck (back window) of my Dad's Pontiac.
