No, but I remember David Seville and the Chipmunks and their smash hit Ragtime Cowboy Joe.

Great thread. Reminded me of:

... carrying my .22 through the school grounds to the fields and rodeo grounds beyond and shooting gophers on a warm Saturday afternoon (with everyone's blessing);

... stopping to fish on the way home and then hanging them across my handlebars to peddle home;

... knowing my Dad could, and would, handle bad guys on the spot and how safe that made all of us feel;

... buying dynamite to go fishing, er, I mean to remove some stumps;

... my 455 TA and being lined up 3 abreast at a red light at 1:00 AM in about 1974; and then

... being stopped by a city cop who wanted to look under the hood. We had a long talk about the relative strength of a 455 SD and a Corvette.

Nobody sweated the small stuff. We trusted each other, mostly.

I remember Dave Seville and his hit "The Witch Doctor Song", this was before the Chipmunks became the front men.

Never heard of the Chipmunks!!! That is so sad. How did you have Christmas without the chipmunks? http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=6hAUWyp0qzs

And the others were making me feel young and then posted that stuff about the Hansons.

As for me, I grew up in the dark part of the past that everyone else chooses to ignore. And those posting all that other stuff are to blame for running my childhood. That's right dam it I grew up in the 70's and I remember all the horrible stuff ya'll did! Ya'll can deny it all ya'll want but I bet most of you had those awful polyester leisure suits and actually wore them even if you won't own up to it now. And disco, what the hell was that??? And TV was just sad. The only thing I had to watch of any value were all the reruns from the 50's and 60's if not earlier. If it hadn't been for the Bugs Bunny Roadrunner Show I would have been stuck with all the 70's crap for Saturday morning. Notice all the comedies now make fun of that crap ya'll tried to push off on my generation. When "Land of the Lost" came out with Will Ferrel I had flashbacks of the original theme song that he started strumming. It took me a week to get over the nightmares, Oh the Horror. And mixing quaaluds with your pot is not cool even if you thought it was. All the hell that did was turn an otherwise tolerable stoner into a down right annoying stoner.

Oh as for paying so much for stuff at the movies....That's called payback for that crap ya'll tried to pass of as movies in the 70's. Just because ya'll were still having acid flashbacks didn't mean we kids were. There was absolutely no call for ya'll to drag us off to watch Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

Ya'll couldn't even elect a president for the entire freaking decade!!! Nixon, Ford, and Carter....I mean damn what were ya'll thinking!!!!! How do you elect those three all in one decade?????? And two of them were Republicans so I don't want to hear any partisan crap!!!!

I was just a young impressionable kid but I was still smart enough to know ya'll adults had lost your minds. Contrary to the saying at the time everything was not "DYNOMITE". So ya'll can foundly remember your childhood's but I'm not about to let ya'll forget about what ya'll did to my generation. Note, my generation is the only generation in history that the previous generation can't saying anything bad about it. And if any of you dare say anything bad about my generation I'll take that pet rock out of your closet and throw it at you!

If it hadn't been for Farrah Fawcett, Linda Carter, and Star Wars that entire decade would have been 10 years lost by humanity. Oh, and the Chipmunk's Christmas song.
