Ahh...dinner was nice tonight if I may say so. Tilapia fillets with a macadamia nut crust. A mango and papaya chutney to go over that. Brown rice cooked with pineapple juice instead of water. Steamed carrots, broccoli, and asparagus with a garlic butter drizzle. And a nice salad to bring it all together. Best part was that most of it came from my backyard! Yum.

Tennessee native here. Had leftover collard greens cooked with couintry bacon and topped with chopped raw onion, and macaroni-and-cheese last night. Loved it! Comfort food.

But dammit, now you guys have me thinking about a steak!

Seems a shame to have collards and onions without cornbread and black eyed peas!

Just had a Fourple bypass, went back to work and started gaining weight. We started a 5 month "biggest loser" program and it looks like just about everyone has at least gone back to their original weight after the first two months.
There's going to be a lot of hungry buggers the last 3 weeks of our contest.

Running late, didn't have time to cook the peas (I only use the dried ones) or the buttermilk to make the kind of cornbread I like best. But you definitely have a point. You must have had some fine upbringing!
