One pound of Navy beans, soaked overnite {started soaking this morning at 7:00 AM} cover with 2 inches of cold water above the beans, adding one medium onion diced fine, half tablespoon of salt, 2 tablespoons of Tarregon vinegar, half teaspoon of dry mustard, half teaspoon of pepper.

I'll cook this at a boil for about 25 minutes.

Mix in 5 tablespoons of heavy dark molasses.

Cut one quarter pound of salt pork into small cubes and place several into the beans and the rest on top.

Making sure the beans are covered by a quarter inch of liquid and bake in slow oven for 8 hours.

Tomorrow is the feast.

Best I could do.

Sounds like a delicious feast to me. If you were closer I'd invite you over for dinner a time or two. I don't mind sharing at all.

Manwich sloppy joes & tater tots. Of course, I cannot leave well enough alone, so along with the ground beef, I added some diced onion, diced red and yellow bell pepper, a carrot, grated, and 4 or 5 good dashes of hot paprika.
