He's a pretty nice guy so I'm lucky too.
Plus, it feels good to take care of him. I'm old fashioned like my Granny was.

My aunt made this earlier today. She likes to use a light roux. Me, I like to use a dark roux.

Red beans and rice. I just put (2) lbs.of red beans in a pot of water to soak overnight. It's been over (3) weeks since I made some. Thanx for the idea!

Dinner tonight......cheese and crackers. It was game night at my friend's house tonight but it got cancelled due to blustery snow and bad roads. I was so excited to go out, too.

leftover Sloppy Joes for dinner tonight! Mmmmm good!
Wait a minute. You didn't know that home-made from scratch always beats canned hands down?

believe it or not, the last time i had Sloppy Joes made from scratch were those made by my stepmom when i lived at home. since then, then came from the can! i will say this my wife is a decent cook, but these Sloppy Joes were awesome! i ate some the next evening for dinner and they still tasted good.

I think people know that. But when one comes home from working all day, sometimes "easier and quicker" wins out.

that's true. my wife also works so i don't complain about her cooking. the fact that does cook for me and i get home there's a hot meal ready is just fine with me.

my wife isn't perfect and every once in a while she messes up a dish or dinner. but i never complain, because she tries hard to do everything well and she has a big heart of gold. i'd still love her even if she couldn't cook. she really is that special to me and i'm truly lucky to have her.
