After last night's liquid dinner I'm doing pre-prandial preparation for tomorrows Cuban pork stew. Got the pork cut up and marinating in some lime juice, oregano, cumin, garlic, and s&p. Let it go overnight and cook it up tomorrow with some onion, bell pepper, chicken stock, red pepper flakes, pimento stuffed olives, white wine, and some tomato paste. I'll put over some hot, steamy rice. Maybe I'll get ambitious and fry up some plantains.

well last night the wife was going to make Sloppy Joes for dinner. she then realized she didn't have any of the canned mixture to make them. hmmm... well she got on one of the cooking websites and found a recipe for homemade Sloppy Joes. she had all the ingredients to make them. well, let me tell you this,....... they were ten times better than the canned mixture version ever thought about being! they were awesome!

leftover Sloppy Joes for dinner tonight! Mmmmm good!

Hubby and daughter are having sloppy joes. Yuck! So I'll be making something else for myself which is what I always do when he asks for sloppy joes.

I have always made my sloppy joes from scratch. Ketchup to desired sloppiness, a squirt of lemon juice, a slosh of vinegar and some brown sugar to taste. Excellent stuff. I also fry the hamburger meat with celery, onions and sweet peppers. I haven't used canned sauce for the last 25 years or so.

Do you know what she used to make the sauce?

We been making homemade sloppy Joes for years out here in the sticks, we use ketchup and chili powder and some other secrets, turns our 10 times better than mamwhich! Even better with venison you end up with sloppy does!

she used one pound of ground beef, 1/4 cup diced onions, 1/4 cup diced bell peppers, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of mustard, 3/4 cup of ketchup, 3 teaspoons of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of Worschershire sauce, salt and pepper.

she browned the meat, then mixed everything in and let simmer for about 30 minutes.
