It was medium rare.

one of the key factors in grilling a great steak is to pick a quality cut of meat and to not overcook it. a great steak is one that can stand on it's own with nothing on it. if you can take a bite of that steak, and the flavor just amazes your tastebuds, all on it's own, that's a great steak, cooked to perfection.

Default Dinner, what's up?

imageuploadedbyfirearms-talk1395820125.217328.jpg

My little brother drove in for a visit! He brought gifts! Fresh caught catfish, frog legs and gator tail! Said since I moved out nobody would cook the stuff for him.

So.... THIS is what we like to call back home....

A MAN FEAST!!!

Best part: taught him how to cook all of it himself. Cuz that's what big brothers are for. Even taught him the secret to gator that doesn't rip your teeth out or taste like fricking mud.

Tonight I did deep dish pizza. I need to learn how to make a thinner crust.

Start with less dough. Are you spinning it or pressing it out with your fingers?

Spinning it. Surely you jest? I would be wearing it. I press it out with my fingers.

Gator is not a friendly meat to cook. It's like leather if you do it wrong.
