Winds,. no one is trying to "Twist" the Knife in her. Sorry if it seems that way, it wasn't meant to be that way. I spent a Long time(over 15 years) alone after my 1st Marriage failed.....

Tonight will be Caesar salad & Chicken Piccata over Angel hair pasta, with crusty bread and wine.

I was kidding. I was not really offended. I mean I DO miss Balota but I really don't mind being alone. I have lots of friends and just knowing they're a phone call or text away is enough to keep me happy for now.

Take your favorite loin of beef, some sea salt, a glass baking pan and a rack lift the meat about an inch above the salt.

Pour salt into pan and place it in you 36-38 deg frig. Place rack over pan with salt, make sure the meat does not touch the salt. The salt is only for moisture control. Place meat on rack, fat side down. Leave in frig for 2 week to 60 days. Pat dry with paper towel daily. when you pat dry do not be scared that it smells a little bad. You can put some baking soda in the frig and that will help. After there is a crust over the meat and you are at the time limit that you want, pull meat out. Cut about 1/2" off of either side and trim the dark crust of meat. season to taste and grill on high heat. The darker the crust the better. you should be able to pinch the meat after trimming and get a finger full.

there are youtube videos on dry aging meat at home. Let me know how yours turns out. in a month. its the best steak you will ever eat and you will wonder how the heck you have been eating non aged beef all of your life.

enjoy!

Anybody with any intelligence knows that is photoshopped. Polar bears are only from the North and penguins only live in the South.

Yeah the penguin does look photoshopped. It's probably a baby seal but they wanted to be more PC about it.

Everybody vacations down south. Polar bears just go further south than most.

Why, you ask?

For the salty sweet taste of freshly roasted penguins.

Penguins on a spit! BEST CARNIVAL FOOD IDEA EVER!

OMG! I forgot to tell Y'all about dinner the other night. My housemate and I went to the Boulder Creek Brewing Company for dinner- a little out-of-the-way place in a tiny little town in the Santa Cruz Mountains- where I have eaten before a couple of times.

First thing on th emenu under appetizers is (no sh!t) "Deep Fried Avocado". OK, now I am not a huge fan of avocados, but I do like them a little bit, but this sounded intriguing. I have had any number of deep-fried foods, most of which are freaking awesome, but avocado? Fried? I cannot for the life of me think of more than a couple of things that have cooked avocado in them that are any good. Avocados don't cook well. They just don't!!

So I ask the waiter about it and he was sort of coy, but said it was good and we should try it. blah blah blah.

Ohmygawd! I am absolutely freaking in LOOOVVVE with this food! Hawt Damn that was some great food! They are heavily breaded in what seems to be Panko crumbs with a little bit of "heat" to them. They then seem to be fried in a really freaking hot oil so the outside is crispy and the avocado is firm and only slightly warm. Its a whole lot of awesome! The waiter came by later and I said he did the perfect balance of underselling and over-delivering. I took a pic, but too badyou can't try them for yourself!!!
