Trip is right on this one. Anything ground had to be cooked. If meat comes in contact of equipment that wasn't completely cleaned previously, intestinal bombs can result. Your taking chances on the cleanliness of the machine, or lack of it. Steak is a completely different story. Medium.

Meat must not be "well done". Its just wrong!
I let the flames come up and char the outside sealing in the juices. Do the same with steaks and even hotdogs. Love that taste. I hate well done meat too.

I love that taste, too. That's why I prefer charcoal grills over propane ones.

I guess its a calculated risk then. Personally I have never gotten sick from undercooked meat. The only time I have ever gotten sick from food was a sandwich I ate at the airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica. e.Coli. Nasty bug.

I would prefer to rsk it and enjoy my food then to ruin a meal out of fear. Then again I buy high quality ground beef, not that frozen crap that comes out of a factory feedlot.

Jasper's grill. As a home fried hillbilly redneck. Almost at least. I am not in favor of fancy stuff. Or jambalaya that tastes like rice crispies.
