Trichinosis is not much of a problem these days. It is caused when swine are fed infected swine. It used to happen on the farms but it doesn't happen any more. It is against the law to fed livestock with animal proteins. Thereby eliminating Mad Cow Disease and Trichinosis. If you buy pork from the grocery store, your chances of getting pork infected with trichenella is very slim.
Now, if you are shooting and eating wild hogs, there is a possibility they have fed off dead hogs that are infected with trichinella. In this case, it is recommended you cook wild pork well done.

Bbq'd chicken, red potatoes, zuccinni and squash casserole, mushrooms and onions. Wash it down with still warm homemade brownies. Life could be worse.
